Left an item on a plane in Korea? How to get it back

Left your phone, passport, or bag in the seat pocket or overhead bin? On-board items belong to the airline, not the airport. Here's how to report a lost item to Korean and international carriers.

If you left something in the cabin — seat pocket, overhead bin, tray table — it's held by the airline, not the airport's lost & found. Report it to the carrier as soon as possible.

Step 1: Have your flight details ready

You'll be asked for your flight number, date, seat number, and a clear description of the item. The sooner you report, the better — cabins are cleaned quickly between flights.

Step 2: Report to your airline

Most carriers have an online lost-item form or a call center:

Contacts for other Korean carriers (Jeju Air, T'way, Jin Air, Air Busan, Air Seoul, Eastar Jet) are in the airlines directory.

On the plane vs. in the terminal

  • In the cabin → the airline.
  • In the terminal (gate, restroom, baggage hall) → the airport Lost & Found (see Korean airports lost & found).

How long airlines keep cabin items

Policies vary by carrier — some hold on-board items for a set number of days, then donate or dispose of them. Report early and confirm the airline's timeframe when you call.

Already home?

Airlines can often ship a recovered item, or you can arrange a courier. If coordinating with a Korean call center is difficult, we can handle the recovery and delivery for you.
